Distinguished and Famous people from Bulloo
🌟 John Leahy
John Leahy combined politics with the practical business of keeping an outback town going. At Thargomindah he operated the Royal Hotel, became a part-owner of the Thargomindah Herald and served on the Bulloo Divisional Board. He also supported the town's reticulated artesian water supply, completed in 1895. His parliamentary career took him from representing Bulloo to becoming Speaker of the Queensland Legislative Assembly in 1907. Leahy House preserves a local connection with a career that ranged from hotelkeeping and newspapers to the workings of Parliament.
